Hyer Research Award, of the Texas Section of the American Physical Society, will be presented each year to two pairs of recipients: a graduate student and this student's research advisor, and an undergraduate student and that student's research advisor. Since 2009, the Texas Section of the American Physical Society honors each year one or more of individuals that have made a significant contribution to the programs of the Texas Section and/or the Texas Physics community with a Texas Section Distinguished Service Award. A committee consisting of two members and two former recipients recommends one or more awardees and the executive committee votes on their recommendation.
For several years the Texas Section has sponsored awards for outstanding presentation by both undergraduate and graduate students.
