Meeting Caregiver Grants

(Available for both in-person & virtual meetings)

Small grants of up to $500 are available for APS virtual meeting attendees who incur extra expenses for child or elder care during the meeting. Grants are available for the March Meeting, April Meeting, and for most unit meetings. Please make sure you are filling out the correct form. Expenses must be documented by receipts. In the event that the number of requests for grants exceeds the funding available, preference will be given to applicants in the early stages of their careers.

  • Food
  • Tickets to local museums, amusement parks, etc.

Selecting Grants

If the number of requests for grants exceeds the funding, preference will be given to applicants in the early stages of their careers and applicants who have not received a caregiver grant in the past year.

Application Misrepresentation

APS reserves the right to deny funds to applicants who misrepresent their funding needs.

Changes in Circumstances

If the need for your grant changes between when you applied and the date of the meeting, you must contact APS to explain. You will be notified if your need is still eligible for funding.

Testimonials

"I must say this program was very helpful for me, as it covered about half of my costs of bringing my child with me. Otherwise, I wouldn't have brought her and couldn't attend the full conference."

"I am very grateful for the childcare grant since it allowed me to pay partially the expenses incurred by traveling with my own babysitter. I think this type of initiative is really important and deserves to be continued on a regular basis."

Nominees for and holders of APS Honors (prizes, awards, and fellowship) and official leadership positions are expected to meet standards of professional conduct and integrity as described in the APS Ethics Guidelines. Violations of these standards may disqualify people from consideration or lead to revocation of honors or removal from office.
