International Attendee Registration and Letter of Invitation Information

As a welcoming global hub for physicists, APS is delighted to include international attendees at our events, such as the APS March Meeting, APS April Meeting, and APS Division or Topical Group Meetings. To assist international attendees, APS provides resources on obtaining a visa and traveling to the United States. APS strongly recommends international attendees review the APS visa information page. To avoid visa-related problems, review the Visa Delays page. For additional information, review the Entering the United States page. APS hopes these resources will assist you as you prepare to travel to the US.

Letter of Invitation

International registrants will automatically receive a letter of invitation at the time of registration. If you have submitted an abstract for the meeting and need a visa letter before you register, please email abs-help@aps.org.

For the March, April and some Division/Topical Group Meetings, a letter of invitation will be automatically emailed to you after you register for the meeting. If you do not receive the email, please send an email to abs-help@aps.org. Please include "Letter of Invitation" in the subject, along with the following information:

  • your name as it appears on your passport,
  • your affiliation and mailing address, and
  • your submitted abstract title.

Allow five to seven (5-7) business days to receive your letter of invitation for a visa application.
